A young man of Apulian origins and Spanish architect Andrew Trotter joined forces to create a project in the beloved region of Apulia. In a unique location, just a few kilometers from the oldest city in Apulia, Oria, ‘Il Borgo’ was born. In the heart of Salento, between the Adriatic and Ionian seas, three intimate, independent country houses share a Mediterranean garden with a swimming pool, amidst orchards and centuries-old olive trees. All three rustic-chic houses have been created with a nod to the area’s architectural traditions, with arched openings and vaulted interior volumes infusing the spaces with light and peace.

The structure consists of three different flats. Casa Camino and Casa Luce were obtained from the renovation of two existing buildings and are characterized by high vaulted rooms. The two are separated by a small central courtyard, an architectural filter between the outdoor access and the garden. The third flat, called Casa Limone (Lemon House), is an extension building of the existing Casa Luce, formed by two newly constructed barrel-vaulted rooms. The complex is made entirely of tuff painted with white lime as if to accentuate its hermetic spirituality.

The large communal swimming pool is a well-deserved luxury, but the beautiful sandy beaches of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts are also 35 minutes away. Moreover, you are within easy reach of the most beautiful towns in Puglia such as Oria, Francavilla Fontana, and Brindisi.

In less than 30 minutes you will visit the ancient villages rich in history and culture, restaurants serving typical local cuisine, and renowned tourist attractions in the Itria Valley: Ostuni, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Alberobello and its trulli, or the famous ports of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli.
